This is a starting point for opportunities to serve at Harp’s Crossing. More will be added as the needs are made known.

PLACE is a 6-session class that is offered two or three times a year. This is a free class.

If you are not sure where you are best suited to serve within the body of Harp’s Crossing, we encourage you to go through PLACE Ministry and discover what your spiritual gifts are and how you can best serve within your church. Contact Keith Stallings  or Lori Stallings for more information on PLACE Ministry.  Stay tuned for the dates of the next opportunity to take this class.

Local Opportunities:

Good News Club 2023-24–  All grade school children who attend at Inman Elementary are able to join the Good News Club sponsored by Harp’s Crossing and Woolsey Baptist Church. For the 2023-24 school year, the club will meet on Thursdays from 1:45-4:15 pm (October-March). Eighty percent of kids in public school do not attend church; they haven’t heard these true stories. If you child attends at Inman Elementary, we invite you to enroll them in Good News Club through the school office. Also, have them bring their unchurched classmates to the club!! Teach them to be the “Andrews” who bring people to meet Jesus!

If you would like to volunteer with the club, please check out the details here. If your child does not attend at Inman Elementary, some of the other schools are also offering this. Check with your school to see if they are involved with the Good News Club! If not, you can learn more by contacting Sheryl Bodron to see how to bring a Good News Club to your child’s school. There will be a Volunteer Training Conference on Saturday, August 12th (9am-1pm) at The Bridge Comunity Center, 225 Willow Bend Rd., Peachtree City, GA, 30269. If you are interested in volunteering this school year or are thinking about it, please plan to attend this training. Anyone 15+ years is able to serve. Anyone 18+ will need a background check performed for child protection purposes.

Drivers Needed – If you are looking for a place to serve and you can drive, we have just the place for you! The church needs teams of two men to deliver meals to Calvary Refuge Center on Wednesday evenings. Call Donna Rector at 404-695-7180 for more information or to sign-up. Drivers are also needed to assist some of our older church members to and from doctor appts. If you would like to help with this, please call the church office and speak with Lori 770-461-5318. She will add your name to a list of volunteers that we can call when a request for transportation comes to us.

World Hunger Project – In October of each year, an offering is taken to go to help fight hunger in many parts of our world. Apart from the World Hunger Project… Did you know this? A portion of your tithes and offerings go to help feed the homeless. Over the past 20+ years, Harp’s Crossing has provided 50,000+ meals for the homeless. The meals are prepared here and transported to the Calvary Refuge Center, every Wednesday evening, fifty-two weeks out of the year.

Tree of Angels Project – Every year in November we collect Christmas gifts for children in families we minister to. The tree can be found in the Worship Center Lobby. Please stop by each November, pick out an angel or two, so that you can provide a Christmas gift for a child in need.

Crocheting With A Purpose – Every Thursday night at 6:30 pm in the back of the Fellowship Hall. Come join other women as they learn to crochet items to be donated to various ministries. If you have any color spools of sewing thread or large scrap pieces of flannel or fleece material you no longer need, would you please share for a project that our Harp’s women have started. For more information, contact Linda Bidez or Ann Tanaka.

Sewing Do you have simple sewing skills or more advanced skills? Can you cut fabric from patterns? We can use you in the choir and drama ministries sewing simple costumes. Contact Kathy Massengill for more information.

Do you like to cook or serve meals? We can use you for some of the many events that are held at our church. From teacher breakfasts, committee meetings, bereavement meals for families during funerals, or other events throughout the year that come up and a meal is needed, we can use volunteers to help us out. If you would like to serve in this area, please call the church office or email Lori Stallings and allow her to put your name and contact information on a list so that as the need arises, we can pull in help from you and other volunteers.

GBC Disaster Relief Training –  See David Bowen for more information. Did you know that 95% of the meals that American Red Cross serves are actually prepared by Southern Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers? Our goal is to assist in times of disaster to help bring normalcy back to the lives of those in crisis. We go out to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to share the love of Christ to the hurting.

Vacation Bible School We hope you will make plans to work in VBS in early June every year. For Fayetteville Campus questions contact Jennifer Dooley.  For Hollonville Campus questions contact Gina Hatchett.
